Malezi Scholarships
Last year, Malezi High School partnered with five Universities in the United States of America who agreed to provide direct entry and a full scholarship to any student from our high school who performs exceptionally well in academics and is also gifted in sports.
The programme has kicked off and our first beneficiary, Rahab Mbugua of the 2006 Form 4 class, will be joining Cumberland University -Tennessee in January of 2008. While pursuing her university education there, Rahab will also play Division One tennis in the U.S.A.
In order to qualify for these scholarships, our students take their studies seriously and also work to ensure that they excel in a sport of their choice.

The school is set up in a beautiful and comfortable surrounding. They’ve got the best facilities here, to enable me to study.
As a child, growing up in an underprivileged community, I never thought it would be possible for me to attend a school like Malezi School. When I came to the school back in 2005, in Standard Eight I was scared and thought that maybe the students would treat me differently because I am not of their social class. But all my fear vanished when I was welcomed into the friendly environment. The students, teachers and the school community in general are so friendly with everyone and there is no social class. Every one here is treated equally. I thank God for that.

Malezi School has changed my life a great deal and I have learnt so many things both in and outside class that I never thought possible. Learning how to swim was a dream to me until I started going to school here. I think what I feel for Malezi School is pure love because I enjoy every second of my life at this school.
It is like a home and it modifies your thinking in general. The teachers here have helped me to overcome teenage challenges like peer pressure by talking to me. They have been extremely understanding and we have learnt how to relate well even with members of the opposite sex.
I wish to thank the Principal Dr. Elizabeth Odera for she has helped me to get a sponsor who goes all the way to see to it that I am comfortable. Dr Liz is so friendly that students wonder how a person of such high rank can be so caring and loving. I see Malezi as the place to be. It has made a responsible, social and hardworking person out of me.
Currently a Form Three student at Malezi School, Winnie is on our ‘African Sport and Education Fund’, a sponsorship programme’ that helps talented students from underprivileged communities obtain an education.
